I'm getting a son!!
Hey!
Transfers were this week and...
I'm getting a son!!
For those of you who don't know mission lingo, I'm training a new missionary! I'm also staying in Itoman so that's awesome. Elder Campbell is transferring to the beautiful island of Amami and going senior there! I'm so excited for him! I'm sad he's going to miss the baptism of Hisada and Sachiko though.
This week was a little bit slow, Elder Campbell got sick and so we had to stay in a couple days. But the work is still moving!
So at church last week, there was this girl that came that I never saw before, so I said hi and it turns out she wasn't a member, she was the sister of a girl who got baptized a few years ago. The mom is also a member. So we visit their house one night and had a way awesome talk with the member sister. She really wants her sister to get baptized so we made a plan to start teaching her! We'll see what happens! Pretty much the first time I tried working with a part member family. So I'm not sure what I'm doing but oh well haha!
One interesting thing this week. So Nagayama, the guy that got baptized when I was in Oroku, has recently got into politics. So we're riding our bikes down a street and he calls us saying he saw us and told us to turn around. So we turn around and he's standing in front of this political office. He tells us to come in and we're like uh... Okay haha so we go in and there's three old ladies. At first their nice but then they were surprised when we turned down the tea they gave us. I told them we believe in this thing called the word of wisdom and we don't drink tea. And started teaching these three old ladies. Then they started getting kinda not nice and telling us that tea is healthy and that we shouldn't be trying to procelyte and preach to people, trying to get them to throw away their beliefs and Anse stores, and the thing that's been passed down for generations. Anyways, it was cool because as we testified to these ladies I was able to feel the spirit and these ladies actually listened to us.
Oh I also got some sort of nose cancer inside my nose and got to go to the doctor for the first time and he removed it. Then I had to have a cotton ball stuck up my nose for 24 hours to stop the bleeding.
Not much else this week!
Love
