Bake me a Cake

Hey!

What a crazy week!! A lot happened this week, we weren't able to do much Dendo or teaching cause of all the stuff that went down but it was fun!

So update on investigators or, "people being taught" as they say nowadays, Sachiko is progressing so well! She loves church! She also wants her daughter to grow up and be like one of the young women in the ward. This ward is the best! So yeah, she's doing really well. It was her birthday this week so we made a really ghetto cake in the rice cooker and made improvised frosting by using a blender to blend up sugar to make powdered sugar, cause it's way expensive here in Japan. But it wasn't thick enough so we threw in peanut butter to make it thicker. It turned out pretty OK! Then we made our own cake box! I was more impressed with the cake box than the cake itself haha. Then we got a ride to her house and left it in front of her door! She was way happy! But she said at first when she got home, she though someone left a bomb in front of her door and was way scared for a second haha! Then on Sunday some ward members invited us and her over to celebrate her birthday and it was so fun! We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ while her daughter and the family's kids played. Even though it was super loud, screaming kids everywhere, the spirit was so strong and she was crying the whole time! She also talked about how this church and gospel is the thing she's been looking for her entire life.

Hisada is doing good as well! She also really enjoys church and is ready for baptism. We gave her the letter for her parents and she said they are going to write us one back to ask questions. So we'll see how it goes. We taught her about trials of faith though and how God blesses us if we rely on God through our trials.

This week we had a special conference with Elder Wada and Elder Yamashita! Way cool and we learned more on how to be more Ammon - like missionaries.

Then the next day we had a Family History Fair in Naha. Way awesome turnout! One of the families that comes to Eikaiwa came and stayed the whole time! They got really into it and we were able to teach them about temples and eternal families.

Today we went to the Peace Memorial Park for the Battle of Okinawa and it was way awesome. You never really learn about this part of the war in History class so it was way interesting. Way beautiful park too!

Transfers are next week, hopefully I don't transfer!

Love
