Omuta Zoo Trip
Hello!
This week was a busy one! We spend half of it in Kumamoto for exchanges and zone conference! We also had district pday and the Welker couple made hamburgers and root bear floats! It was way good! I got to go on exchanges with Elder Akuta, a brand new missionary and he taught me so much! He has so much fire to find and teach, I got pretty pumped up just being with him. He's got a bright mission ahead of him! One cool miracle we experienced together: we biked really far to try to find a less actives house, but then we got to the area and couldn't find it. It was already lunch time by the time we got there so we were gonna head back home, but I felt like it was a waste to come so far and have nothing happen. So I felt like we should knock on this door and so we did and it was this Nepali girl with way good Japanese! Turns out she's studying the Bible right now and has a lot of interest in church! We were able to teach her the restoration and set a return appointment! I know that the spirit led us to her! That night we had a gyōza night party at the church and we were able to teach some of the restoration to some of the people that came!
Zone conference was probably one of the best ones the Mack's have ever held! I learned a lot! I learned that I need to stop making excuses and get to work! I also felt the spirit way strong as a heard the testimonies of other missionaries. It finally hit me that this is my last transfer and I won't be able to experience this again. It's so bittersweet! I'm going to miss being a missionary!!
Saturday night we went to Kumagawa Festival with our investigator and a member and it was so awesome! It was so cool to see so many people in yukatas and and dressed up! Basically it was like a parade and people danced the whole time! Also apparently yatsushiro is famous for having a mystical water creature that looks crazy, so everyone was dressed up like it haha! Japanese Festivals are so much fun!
This week we were able to make some progress with 2 of our investigators! One of them hasn't been able to pray yet, but she committed to praying before next Saturday! The other investigator asked us a lot of good questions and was saying how she was so confused because there are so many people that are so devoted to their different religions. We taught her that she simply just has to ask God what is right, and he will answer! She said she would pray about it.
Today we went to the zoo with our investigator and a member and her friend and it was so fun! We had to drive to Omuta because the zoo in kumamoto was closed! I got really close to a giraffe... I also rode a ferris wheel for the first time!!
That about sums it up!
