Keep the Faith
The weeks seem to be flying by, next week the new Japanese missionaries will be coming in and we will be getting 21 new missionaries to take care of and help before we leave.
The other day my companion had to go to the pharmacy to get some medicine and it was so weird walking out of the MTC! It a breathe of fresh air and it was weird to think that my brother was only a short walk away!
Next week we are going to be teaching lessons through Skype to people in Japan, I'm so excited! Usually when we teach, we teach Americans who know Japanese because they served missions before, so I'm excited to teach real Japanese people!
The Language is coming along slowly but surely, everyday I learn a new Grammer principle and use it in my lessons, it's so cool and fun! However I know that the real learning will come when I'm actually in Japan!
One of the things that was highlighted this week that I learned a lot about was Enduring to the End. In the mission there's a lot of things to endure. However I know that through Christ, all things are possible. In the Devotional this week, the speaker highlighted that God gives us improbable tasks to complete, to prepare us to do that impossible. He shared the example of Nephi in the Book of Mormon, and how he was given the improbable task of retrieving the plates from King Laban. Through God's tender mercies he was able to do so. Then when the truly impossible task of building a ship came upon him, he was able to have complete faith that the Lord would direct him and he was able to do it.
One scripture that I found this week relating to the topic that I really liked was in 2 Timothy 4:7-8 which says:
"7: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith
8: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing"
I know that if we Endure all the challenges of Life and trust in God, and use his tender mercies to guide us, that he will bless us immensely and beyond our comprehension.
