Yard Transformation

This week was super busy!!

So this week we had a ton of lessons with less actives and investigators and also had less actives joint with our lessons with investigators and we've been seeing tons of miracles!
Some miracles this week: first off, we had 4 less actives at church this week!!
So on Monday night we had only a little bit of time left at night so we went over to this less actives house that is close to the apartment. So usually we aren't able to meet her cause she never answers the door and when we do meet her she's always busy. However this time she was in her car and we were able to talk and we asked if we could help with anything and she said she actually wanted help clearing her yard! So we were like yes, let us help you! Haha and so we spent literally from morning until night Wednesday and Saturday clearing up her yard! It was literally a jungle and vines were everywhere! I'll attach some before and after pictures! We were able to talk to the less active member then a lot and help her to remember the importance of church! She said she needs to come back and also help the branch grow so she was talking about having a BBQ and inviting us and her friends so that she could introduce us to her friends! So that's one motivation of clearing her yard.. Haha her daughters are also less active so hopefully we can get to know them more then and help them to come back to church! Anyways, so she came to church with her son this week after 3 months of not coming! It was an awesome miracle!

We also got a referral from another mission and we went and visited and it was this pretty chill guy! We set an appointment to talk at the church and we sat and talked a lot about life and we ended up teaching him a lot. He said he wants to get baptized! But he's moving to a different area on Tuesday for work, so we Skype the Elders in that area and they are going to teach him from here on!

Another cool miracle was after English class I asked one of the students if she would be willing to take the lessons and she was totally down! We set an appointment and had a way good lesson with a member!

Also I've been making a ton of cakes and perfecting my craft! Haha it's been going pretty good, people love you when you give them cake!!

Things are looking up!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
