True Conversion
Hello!
This week we had zone conference and it was so good! I also saw Elder Takaku from the good old Hiroshima days and it was so good seeing him!
This week we were able to teach a few of our investigators and the lessons are getting a lot smoother and better! We had one come to church and she told me after that she needs to just accept God's teachings more willingly! We also taught her prayer and the first time she prayed it was so perfect! Almost like a long time member! It's so cool to see people growing closer to God and growing spiritually! Our other investigators it's been hard to meet and they don't really keep commitments so they aren't progressing much. I definitely feel like we teach a lot though which has not always been the case on my mission! We also teach a lot of less actives. It's frustrating when they don't progress as much or as fast as you want them too, but we just gotta keep trying! We were able to contact this one less active lady we've never met before and she still even reads the Book of Mormon and prays! She just said she doesn't like some people at church so she doesn't go. It's sad to see things like that happen. We were able to get her contact and hopefully we can bridge some gaps and get her back someday!
This week we also had a less active member from America teach a kids English class and it was so awesome getting a ton of kids and their parents to come to the church to learn English! Also on Sunday I gave a talk on charity and it went pretty well!
Lastly I wanted to share something I learned this week! I was reading in the Book of Mormon and Alma was talking to his son about how he saw an angel and knocked out for three days and then woke up and was converted. Reading that made me realize that true conversion does not come from seeing things like angels or miraculous things. True conversion comes from repentance. Alma was not converted from seeing the angel, he was converted from repenting of his sins and receiving forgiveness from God through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. That's why repenting is so important! That's how we get converted! Layman and Lemuel saw an angel but they didn't repent and were never converted! That's why as missionaries we teach repentance. And that's why we need to repent daily!
Happy fathers day! Shout out to my dad who's always been there for me!
