Pikachu!

Hello!

Another way busy week!! Some highlights :
We had a water balloon and sparkler party at a less actives house and our investigator! Way fun! We also made a Pikachu lemon cake for it haha!
So one of our investigators wasn't really progressing because she still didn't really understand the importance of reading the book of Mormon and praying and also how to apply the gospel to herself. We also were having a hard time figuring out her needs. So we were praying and thinking about how we can get her over that and also find out what she really needs so we could apply the Gospel to her when out of nowhere after English class on Wednesday she starts asking some questions that have been troubling her and we were able to find out what she really wanted in life. She was also able to then realize the importance of reading the Book of Mormon and finding out for herself if it's true and if it will truly make her happy.
Another awesome miracle is that we randomly got a text from a less active we've been working with and she invited us over for lunch! Her daughter who also hasn't come to church in like 20 years came and when we shared the spiritual message at the end she testified that she receives blessings from reading the book of Mormon and keeping the commandments. Hopefully we can get them back one day!
We also had exchanges on Thursday and Friday and we had a really funny coincidence! So we visited a member and asked if they needed help with anything and they said they needed help putting up a net in their garden. They didn't have a tall enough ladder to put it up but we set an appointment to come help them the next day. That same night we visited some less active members and turns out the father is a carpenter and he had a ton of ladders! So we asked if we could use it and they said yes! So the next day we were able to easily put up the net! It's crazy how God works sometimes haha!
Lastly on Saturday We made a lemon cake with a less active who hasn't even stepped foot in the church in like 5 years! We were able to build a good relationship with her! Also we had a barbeque with a less active member and our investigator and her daughter and it was so fun! After clearing up the yard for a few weeks we were able to have a BBQ! Then at church she came with her son! We were able to get 4 less actives back to church this week and it was such an amazing miracle!

We are heading to Minamata today which is an hour car drive away from yatsushiro, but where most of the members live, so we don't really have a pday today!!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
