General Conference
Hello!
This week was super busy! Elder Wheeler finally got his bike! It's pretty sweet I must say. General Conference was way awesome and I got to watch the Sunday sessions in Japanese which was very humbling and inspired me to study language more haha!
General Conference on the mission is always a special experience. I am so grateful for a living prophet guiding us in these latter days. I know that he has been called of God, and that he is a true messenger of God. One of my favorite talks from General Conference was from Elder Ronald A. Rasband. He talked about how sometimes we can be like the disciples in the storm, fearing and worrying about all these different things. And we forget to trust in the Lord. The Lord has the power to calm our storms in life, but we also need to trust him that even in the storms, we can be protected and guided. I definitely feel like sometimes I have a hard time trusting and relying on the Lord so I hope to be able to improve.
This week we were finally able to meet with Riyo again! It's been a long time! Me and Elder Campbell taught her a while back, but then she dropped off the map and we couldn't contact her for like 2 months. We finally got back in contact and we went out and ate sushi together. She is still interested in learning more! She looked up the church online and so she had a lot of questions about the commandments, so we just layed it out on the table and left it up to her to decide whether or not it is true. It's always awesome to feel the spirit testify through you and see the person when they choose to let it enter their hearts. I love this work and seeing people grow closer to God! There is truly a change in their lives!
This Saturday morning we also went out and played basketball with some new eikaiwa students. It was way fun and I am so rusty when it comes to bball. They have a ton of potential for sure!
Last pday we bought taco rice bentos and went to the beach with Sachiko and her daughter and it was so fun! I love them so much and Sachiko is such a solid member and you can see the new light in her eyes.
The work is starting to pick up again so that's exciting. Still lots of work to do!
Love
