Happy Valentines

Transfers!!! 

Guess what!!?? I'm staying in Hofu! Yayyy hahaha! My new companion will be Elder Segura! I don't know him but I've heard good things!!

What a week!! It was Elder Hayashi's birthday this week! It was on Valentines day! We celebrated in District Meeting and made him a cake! He's going home this week though so he's gonna pretty much celebrate his birthday when he gets home. Oh and speaking of valentines day, happy valentines day! I guess in Japan they have a day where girls give guys stuff and a different day where guys give girls stuff. I'm not sure which one is which. But as always as a missionary, holidays are pretty much normal days haha. Let's just say everyone that came to Eikaiwa (English Class) was male haha! I asked them all what they liked to do for valentines day and that turned out to be an awkward question since they were all at eikaiwa for valentines day.. Haha!

Nothing super crazy happened this week. Just little miracles here and there. Definitely a lot of growth this week. I feel like I've changed this transfer and my perspective on missionary work. Members are just as important as finding. This entire week we just devoted to building up the branch, and we've gotten referrals, more less actives at church, and just a better relationship with the members. In doing so I know that the Lord will prepare someone to feel the love of the Lord and have the desire to join this great family.

Its been a transfer to remember. I don't have a lot of time because we're going to party it up for Elder Hayashis last Pday!! I would just like to say the I know that this is God's work and that this is his true church on the Earth today. He tests our faith often but we just have to trust in his plan for us. I hope you all are well!!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
