Begin Purification

Hello!

What a crazy week! Not much time to email so this week will be short!

So one cool miracle: so once a week we go to this main shopping center and hold signs that say "ask us 3 questions" and people come up to us and sometimes it turns into a gospel conversation. It's like fishing rather than hunting haha. (hunting being stopping people and trying to talk to them)
Anyways so this couple came up to me and Elder Takaku and so we talked about why we were in Japan and what we were doing. It ended up turning into a way spiritual conversation about how the gospel blesses families and the wife started to cry! We weren't able to set an appointment, but I know that they are being prepared to one day accept the gospel!

We had interviews this week with the mission president and we're learning a lot on building our areas with activities and different things we can do to introduce people to the Gospel. I've been trying to think of different ideas. So far I've got the English class Facebook page pretty active so check that out haha! I've made 6 videos this transfer so far. I don't have too great of a camera or editing software so it's kinda hard but it technically works haha!

We also had a dinner with the former bishops family and his son is less active and we got to make a way good relationship with him, hopefully we can get him to come back to church! Way nice kid.

I read a talk about purification that my brother gave me at the beginning of my mission when I went into the MTC and it inspired me to purify myself and give up the things that are keeping me from always having the spirit with me and being a consecrated missionary. I want to really change as a missionary and become more consecrated in order to teach with the spirit. So basically you fast and then make a list of things that "poke at your spirit" then promise God everyday for 40 days that you will give up those things. We'll see how it goes! I also encourage others to try it out! 

That's about it this week! For pday today we're playing a bunch of games with members at the church cause it's a holiday today for everyone!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
