Hope and Heartbreak

Hellooooo!

This P-Day the whole District is catching a ride up to the aquarium up in North Okinawa, so I'll have pics and stories from that next week! Woke up an hour early this morning to email!

This week was full of miracles and trials at the same time. We met with this one guy Elder Barlow Streeted into when he was on splits with another elder. Usually when you get return appointments on the street the appointments don't really go through. However this guy actually showed up and had interest! He said he wants to go to church, but this week he has work. We invited to baptism and he said he would get baptized if he felt it was true! Way excited for this guy!

Trial this week was kind of going from 100 to 0. Our two solid investigators that we usually meet regularly, pretty much dropped us. The one with a baptismal date randomly called one night and asked if he could extend his date. Then after that his phone wouldn't let us through to call him and he didn't show up to the lesson we planned or church. Then the other investigator texted us late last night asking us to delete her number. It really is heartbreaking. These people were so close to receiving the one thing that could bring them true joy, but then they rejected it. I have faith though that God is preparing someone else for us to teach and enter the waters of baptism. We just gotta keep working hard and find that person!! This is the Lord's work and everything is in his hands. I've learned a lot from this experience. Always gotta keep on growing!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
