Great Faith = Great Miracles

Dear Friends and Family,

This week has been full of miracles!!! So we had this awesome zone conference in Hiroshima where we learned how to use our time more wisely and that our goals are weak and we need to think big! It was cool seeing some people from the MTC again! So anyways President Egan talked about these sisters that contacted 500 people in a week and found 9 new investigators. Normally we contact about 180 people on a good week. So 500 is a lot. So Elder Johnson and I, since Hofu is not as big as Fukuoka, (where these sisters where at) set our goal at 400 contacts a week and 14 new investigators. Zone conference was on Thursday and by Sunday night we had found 9 new investigators!! The Lord has blessed our hard work and led us by the spirit. Not only that is we set our goal with full faith that we could achieve it, then we put in the WORK to see these miracles come to pass. I am learning to listen more closely to where the spirit is telling us to go and we have seen such success.

One huge blessing was finding this HUGE Family!! This family is a family of 14!! They're practically already Mormon! haha! When we first housed into them we were so overwhelmed that all we did was just set a return appointment cause these kids where going crazy that these cool Gaijin where at their door. Anyways we went back a few nights later just hoping they'd be there and not only were they there, they were waiting outside and yelling us to come inside! Then we taught the Plan of Salvation and tried doing it as simply as possible and the mom was there telling them to pay attention if they ever started getting distracted. Way cool kids, climbing all over us and going crazy haha!

It's hard to remember much before all these awesome miracles started happening, but I had my birthday and it was such a cool experience because usually on your birthday you just want to be selfish and think what other people can do for YOU. But then on a mission you are always trying to think of ways to serve. I learned real quick not to think of myself. So when I first woke up I got up and went about my morning routine, and I got out of the shower and Elder Johnson was making some breakfast that smelled real good. So I was like sweet Elder Johnson is making me breakfast, how thoughtful of him. But then he has two helpings of food on one plate so I was confused. Then he finishes one and and leaves the other for a bit. And then he wraps it up and puts it in the fridge and at that moment, I realized he just made two for himself and didn't finish so he was saving the other one for later. So I had cereal haha! I was kinda mad but had to remind myself not to get selfish. It was cool though some ward members gave me food and cake and surprised me with cool notes on our door when we got home so I got a lot of love and gratitude for the ward member here.

Sorry long email, hope everyone is doing awesome! Remember that even if you have the FAITH required, you still need to put in the WORK to see the miracles.

Love,
Elder Lim

ps. Oh yeah so I guess with Facebook we use our Facebook but have to not follow anyone or anything and can't really do anything but post and message investigators so don't be mad if I don't like your stuff! And yes I will admit now that it is a pretty handy tool and I'm grateful to have another tool to further the Lord's work!
