I Love Being a Missionary

Image
This last week was my last full week and boy was it a busy one! We are trying to meet as many people as we can! We literally had someone take us out to eat at least once a day every day, sometimes twice, and I now appreciate a nice home cooked meal... I literally haven't felt hungry since last Thursday haha! Some things that went down: So we had district meeting in kumamoto and a member there that I met during exchanges wanted to meet me before I left. So she met us at the train station and we got donuts and talked. She's kind of a special member because her husband is a stake high counselor and very active, yet she feels like she has no testimony. So she goes to church all the time, but struggles with her own conversion. So we had a nice long discussion on how she can receive her own witness. She also has some bad relationships in the ward she's in so she doesn't always enjoy church. I guess the missionaries there don't really talk to her, so she felt like she

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Little by Little

Hello! Another awesome week in the books! Not a lot of time but here's the run down. Tuesday we went out to eat with one of our potentials and we're able to introduce family history to him. He has interest and yesterday we also taught him how to make banana chocolate cake and then showed him the family history app! He might not have interest in taking lessons now, but we have a way good relationship and have been able to teach him the gospel naturally and I'm sure one day he'll accept the gospel! He's like the nicest guy and way solid! We had exchanges in kumamoto this week and it was so much fun!! I had the opportunity to teach one of their newer investigators, a 80 year old lady. So she's the older sister of kind of a less active member. But the members have a strong testimony, they probably just have a hard time coming to church because of health reasons. Anyways they want her to get baptized so they asked the elders to teach her and when we taught her

Hello! This week was a busy one! We spend half of it in Kumamoto for exchanges and zone conference! We also had district pday and the Welker couple made hamburgers and root bear floats! It was way good! I got to go on exchanges with Elder Akuta, a brand new missionary and he taught me so much! He has so much fire to find and teach, I got pretty pumped up just being with him. He's got a bright mission ahead of him! One cool miracle we experienced together: we biked really far to try to find a less actives house, but then we got to the area and couldn't find it. It was already lunch time by the time we got there so we were gonna head back home, but I felt like it was a waste to come so far and have nothing happen. So I felt like we should knock on this door and so we did and it was this Nepali girl with way good Japanese! Turns out she's studying the Bible right now and has a lot of interest in church! We were able to teach her the restoration and set a return appointment!

Miracles Unceasing

Hello! This week was Elder Balute's birthday so we partied a lot! Haha a lot of less active members we are working with took us out to eat and it was so good! Also a member and our investigator planned a surprise birthday party for him at our English class! They gave us traditional Japanese clothing as presents! Haha it was a lot of fun! Also last Monday a former missionary that served in Yatsushiro 13 years ago came with his family and we had a potluck and they also performed some musical numbers! Not a lot of people came, but we were able to build a good relationship with some less actives that came and also a less actives son who is not a member! I introduced Pathway program to him cause he's trying to get into college and he seemed interested! Hopefully that will someday lead to his conversion! Also one night we decided to visit One of the less actives we're working with and she told us she's sick and has to go to the hospital for a long time. She wa
