Breaking Records!
What a week!!
Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun!
Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies!
This week was also crazy cause Monday night we heard that the trains weren't going to be running in the morning because of a Typhoon that was supposed to come, so we had no way to get to district meeting Tuesday morning. So we had a lesson until 7:30 Monday night, then we went home and packed real quick then took the train to kumamoto that night. We missed the earlier train so we ended up not getting to the tsuboi elder's apartment until 10:30 at night... 😅 But all went well and we survived the typhoon! We had exchanges with the zone leaders and it was good, ended up having dinner with the same members as last time when I came haha. It was good though we were able to teach a good lesson and the less active daughter actually participated! Last night she ignored me when I talked to her haha.
Wednesday night we had Movie Night for English class and it went way well! I watched Coco for the first time and I definitely felt the spirit of Elijah! Haha when the movie ended we introduced family history to everyone and the spirit was so strong!! We were able to give everyone a family history pamphlet. It also goes perfect with he season since Obon is next week. A holiday where people worship their ancestors and stuff and put food out for them. Perfect tie in to family history! So for the first time in my mission I've been family history dendoing and it works pretty good!
This Friday we met with an English referral that we got from online and it was this way nice lady! She can't come to English class so we taught her separately, and it was so fun! She's way awesome and way easy to talk to! Her English is also way good. She also happens to be in the English class the Filipino less active we did yard work for teaches! Small world! She has tons of potential and we already are way good friends. Today we went hiking and she came with us for a little bit! I definitely think she'll accept the Gospel someday!
So today we went hiking with our investigator and her daughter, but the daughter quit at the very beginning cause she wasn't feeling well. So me and elder Balute went up on our own and it was way fun! Not super steep but it was way hot so we were sweating a lot! The view at the top was awesome. I'm too lazy to get the pics off my camera though haha sorry.
Our investigators are doing OK, not progressing as much as I would like...
We visited the one that usually comes to church but hasn't in awhile. She said her pain in her mouth that was bothering her for 6 years went away! She says it's because she went to church! Way awesome miracle. We plan to meet her a ton this week and finally teach her again.
Sorry for the long email!
