Spirit of Understanding

I sent a weekly last week, but I emailed at McDonald's and it somehow didn't send and deleted itself! :( but I'm still alive!

This week was another week of hard work! Some funny things happened! First I got a little bug bite on my hand and the next day it swelled up super big and my hand turned into a club! It's okay now though! We did weekly planning at the beach and I got way dark!

Crazy thing happened last week! So we were housing around these apartments and this guy comes out, he's smoking and stuff, and we're talking to him like normal. Then he suddenly says like he knows Mormons and what we're doing because he served as a missionary a long time ago in Fukuoka. Then he just walked away and me and Elder Barlow were like uhhhh. Way weird haha!

Miracles! We're teaching this one lady with really bad arthritis so it's hard for her to do anything really. We taught her with a member and our member joint was awesome. Probably one of the best lessons I've ever taught. The lady kept saying that's its easy to understand now, and felt the spirit! Lots of potential!

Last week we taught some former investigators we found miraculously, and they both said they felt the spirit when we taught. They said they were too busy to meet again though which was sad, but were getting better at teaching as a companionship! 

I love being here and I love this work! Never been happier!!

Breaking Records!

What a week!! Things have been crazy lately! After finally telling people that I'm going home we've been way busy with appointments! We also had a goodbye party at the church cause next week not everyone can come. Also this week at church was AMAZING! So a less active's wife and 4 kids (who are all active) finally returned home from America and it was so awesome having a full family at church!! Also a family from Aichi came and visited for obon. And then also a less active member came for the first time since moving to yatsushiro branch! All in all I think we had about 21 members at church!! That's a record by far! It was so fun! Also this week we made these sick notebooks for the members to use when they study the Scriptures! There's also a lot of questions that are in the Come Follow Me text that they can write in them. Scripture study is way important so we're hoping that they will all use the notebooks to enrich their studies! This week was also crazy

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Wait the Extra Hour

Ola This week was awesome!! We were able to set a new baptismal date with another investigator! Her name is Riyo, from Osaka! We met her housing last week. We pressed the intercom on her door and at first she quickly said no to us, but then as we were leaving, she said wait! And asked if we were the American missionaries that teaches free English class. We said we were and so she was like, "I'm in the middle of work, come back tomorrow." so we go back the next day and she's not there, but we sit on her apartment stairs and drink drinks from a nearby vending machine cause it was pday, and we going to start housing the area at 6. It was 5pm and we didn't really have time to go home so we just decided to sit and wait. I stood up at 6 so start going and she walks up the stairs right at that time! She forgot and thought the appointment was at 6! She turns out to be way awesome and we are able to teach her the restoration and she agreed to meet again. We taught
