Simple Testimony

Image
Hello!  This week was awesome! We are really focusing on visiting members and less actives. It's always fun finding out the less active you're trying to visit actually died 7 years ago! It's crazy finding these less actives though that have been less active for 30 years and literally have no faith. We are doing our best to help them feel God's love for them again. Sometimes it turns into way spiritual experiences. Saturday we had some ward members and young men help us out at the old man ooshiro sans house and it was way fun. Usually we just help him out ourselves, but it was way fun getting some of the ward to help out making his bridge into his house. We played rugby for pday today and it was so fun to play again! It's been a year since I played in Yamaguchi. Crazy how time flies.  Not much to say this week. Still just doing our best to find those waiting for the truth! Since I don't have much to say, I will just bear simple testimony. I k

Happy Halloween

Hello! What a week! They fly by faster and faster! It's still pretty warm down here in Okinawa so we're way blessed! This week was transfer week, but luckily we didn't transfer so nothing too crazy on our end. But the Oroku Elders are both new and it's been fun working with such great Elders. Everyone is from Utah haha!  So this week we weren't able to meet with any investigators. We've actually kind of had to put them all on the shelf and start fresh again. Our main focus right now is contacting less actives and visiting members. We've seen a ton of miracles from doing so! There are a ton of lessons actives here. We met this one old lady who didn't even know she was a member! She was like, "oh yeah I was baptized but I don't really go to church or anything, like husband was a member though!" it's pretty funny to see, that's back before they had a baptismal interview and requirements haha.  We did meet with one potential

Staying in Itoman

Transfer week! I'm transferring!! Just kidding I'm not haha. I'll be staying in Itoman with Elder Wheeler, yayyy!! Oroku Elders are being whitewashed so that's sad, but I'm excited to see what happens! Elder Barlow is finishing his mission and I look back and I wouldn't be the missionary I am today without him, and I'm glad for his love and support. He'll go home and still be the same great missionary he is. This week was an eventful one! The main thing is that we had a Halloween Party! Way great turnout and way fun! We had a lot of Eikaiwa students come. The ward went all out and there were a ton of games and a lot of great costumes.  This week we also were able to visit some former investigators that have a lot of potential and are starting to teach them again. One of them is a Brazilian lady with the cutest kids! She has a lot of Friends back in Brazil who are members and so she is interested in learning more.

In the Books

Another week in the books! It just goes by faster and faster! This week was good! We finally were able to procelyte without many disruptions and it felt good to get out there again and spread the good word of God! One cool experience was that we met these Filipinos that let us in! Way nice older couple. They are pretty devout catholic, but it was good to just talk about how Christ has helped our lives. People with even some knowledge of the teachings of Christ always have a special attitude about them. We were able to share with them the restoration and they were interested in reading the Book of Mormon so we'll see how it goes! Also we met this really nice lady who gave me a mango for the Book of Mormon so that was awesome  Another fun thing this week: we ate at the beach with a part member family! Turned out way good and we're planning on meeting the nonmember of the family today! Hopefully it turns out good.  We've been going out to eat to sushi a lot with in
