Merry Christmas!

Image
Merry Christmas to everyone! Wow it's crazy to think a year has already passed by. It feels like just yesterday I was celebrating Christmas in Hofu. Time flies when you're having fun! It's always a special experience to be serving the Lord during this time. Although most people don't celebrate Christmas here, everyone knows it and likes it. I think that's because of the light of Christ and His influence. This week was chill! Did a lot of prep for Christmas party and stuff! We made Christmas cards for the members to introduce all the missionaries! We also made all the members cookies and cake. The Christmas party was way good! We had a ton of less actives and potential investigators! Also some nonmembers also brought their friends! Pretty big success I think! We had a cake making contest for the party and my team got second haha. It's been good just getting to know a lot of the members! They are so nice and feed us a lot! We're teaching two recent converts af

Hikari is LIT!

Hey hey! Hikari is LIT! That's a pun for anyone that knows Japanese... Sorry I couldn't help it haha! Anyways I got to Hiroshima and it's COLD. I am missing the warmth of Okinawa for sure! I was still in short sleeves and sweating in Okinawa, now I'm packing on as many layers as possible! Other than that I am loving the fact that there are people EVERYWHERE! I can actually street now and it's way fun! I'm loving the city! Leaving Itoman was so sad and I miss it sooooo much. I wish I had more time to say goodbye! It was a whirlwind of a couple last days in Itoman. I am going to miss everybody and everything about Itoman! I love Okinawa!!!! Definitely going back one day.  We've been doing a lot of exchanges so I've had a lot of chances to work with Elder Curtis, who is straight out from the MTC! He's got a ton of fire and it's been fun! One cool thing that we did this week was go to the train station and hold up a sign the just said &qu

Transfer to Hikari

Image
Hey My time in Itoman has finally come to a close. It's been one heck of a ride. I'm going to miss these people and this place so much. Okinawa has a special place in my heart. These people are the best. I'm honestly heartbroken to be leaving. Plus winter here is awesome haha I'm still using the air conditioning.  So my new area will be Hikari, Hiroshima. The very center of Hiroshima! My new companion will be Elder Arpellida from the Philippines. This will be my first time being in the city since Nagasaki so I'm pumped!  So with transfers going on I don't have any time to email I'm sorry family!! This week was pretty good. We were able to go to the Messiah concert in Okinawa city and that was super awesome! Way good performance and this new student from eikaiwa came with her kids. We also got a less active kid to come with us and work at Ooshiro sans house! Ooshiro San is building this bridge into his house and it's progressing nicely!

Farewell Elder Wheeler

Image
What a crazy week! So I lost my son... But I adopted a new one!! Haha long story short: Elder Wheeler had some health problems he's been struggling with for awhile now and the doctors decided it was best for him to go home, so I buried my son   However, my new companion was someone else's son. That Elder was called up to work in the office so he had to put his son up for adoption and so they gave him to me! Haha my new companion/son is Elder Takahashi from Hiroshima! He is just three weeks old in the mission. So I will continue training him! He's already a stud missionary with lots of fire. I can't wait to get to work with him! So I got to stay with Oroku Elders in Oroku for a few days before I got my new companion. I always joked about transferring back to Oroku haha! It was super fun visiting investigators I used to teach and show the Oroku Elders around my second home. We visited one investigator who was pregnant when I first met her, and

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What a wonderful time of the year! It's still warm up here in Okinawa! I'm grateful for that! So pday ended up being today cause we had zone conference Monday and today is Thanksgiving. We are going to eat with some military American members in Okinawa so we are having a proper American Thanksgiving Feast!! I couldn't be more excited. This last week was crazy, doing exchanges with Ishigaki Elders and Zone Conference and Interviews with President. I learned a lot and it's crazy the changes going on in the mission. We are now going to stop streeting and housing, and find new and more natural ways to share the Gospel. Also really focusing on visiting members and less actives. It's going to be hard to adjust, but, we'll see how it goes!  Zone conference was fun, I got to Translate for the Japanese missionaries and I almost died haha it was so tiring. I definitely felt the Gift of Tongues! That doesn't m
